Winter sunrise (but without the sun)

Lenticular cloud

This is a lenticular cloud that appeared over the Stokes Range this morning. This type of cloud is caused by strong high-level winds over mountain ranges.

An iceberg that I spotted around the far side of Rothera Point. I took this photo just after lunch, when the sun is at its highest (although still not above the horizon!).

Rothera base

This is an HDR image of the base, taken this morning, with the lenticular cloud just forming in the top left hand corner.
